Install in a few steps
- Download and extract the ZIP. Keep the extracted folder somewhere permanent on your computer.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin desktop Chrome. Copy that address into the address bar, then turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner. - Choose Load unpacked. Select the extracted folder that directly contains
manifest.json, not the ZIP. - Pin Time on X. Use Chrome’s Extensions menu, then open or refresh x.com.
- Use X, then check the popup. After a minute of active use, your time should appear. Switching tabs or leaving the computer idle pauses the timer.
Want your totals on the web?
Open Rankings inside the extension, sign in, enter your X handle and choose whether to join the public board. Then use the same email in your web dashboard. Signing in on the website alone does not enable tracking or syncing.
Joining publishes your profile and daily totals. Exact visit timestamps stay in Chrome. Read the privacy policy before joining.
Updating an existing beta
Export a JSON backup from the extension’s Settings first. Replace the files in the same extracted folder, click Reload on Time on X at chrome://extensions, and refresh any open X tabs. Keep the folder in the same location and avoid uninstalling the old copy so your local history stays with it.
Time still at zero?
Refresh X after installing or reloading. Keep X selected in the frontmost Chrome window and interact with the page. The extension works in desktop Chrome; the web dashboard and mobile browsers do not track time themselves.
